Weightless Surrender is part of my Waterworks series.
This painting was inspired by the intense, universal need to pause — to step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with oneself in a moment of pure, sensual release.
As I created this piece, I envisioned a woman surrendering completely to the water, her face turned upward, eyes closed, lips slightly parted — not in distress, but in serene surrender. The motion of the waves around her is powerful yet harmonious, echoing the contrast between inner calm and the swirling energy of the world outside. Her long hair floats freely, merging with the current as if she’s becoming part of the water itself.
For me, this painting was about more than just exploring beauty or the play of light on skin and water. It was about emotional renewal. I painted it during a time when I needed to remind myself — and hopefully others — that it’s okay to let go, to cool down, to exhale. That strength can come from stillness, and that water, with its timeless rhythm, can cleanse more than just the body.
Weightless Surrender is a visual meditation — a moment of solitude, sensuality, and self-healing captured on canvas. It invites the viewer to dive inward, find their own calm, and emerge a little lighter.
