Wonders of Water is part of my Waterworks Series.

This painting emerged from a deeply imaginative and emotional exploration of the fluid connection between human identity and the natural world. As the artist, I was captivated by the idea of how water can both reveal and conceal — how it distorts the familiar and reflects the unseen.

In this piece, I painted the face of a woman breaking through a swirl of cascading water, light, and color. Her gaze is piercing yet calm, almost as if she is one with the element enveloping her. The water is not just a background — it moves with her, around her, through her — suggesting transformation, rebirth, and strength hidden within softness. The abstract textures in the waves blend with the realistic details of her face to symbolize how our emotions and inner thoughts are often submerged just beneath the surface, waiting to emerge.

I created this work during a time when I was reflecting on the fluidity of emotions and the resilience it takes to rise from turbulence. With each brushstroke, I aimed to bring together the raw beauty of realism and the expressive power of abstraction — two forces I love working with — to tell a story of vulnerability and empowerment.

Wonders of Water reminds us that, like water, we are constantly in motion — shaped by experience, yet powerful enough to reshape the world around us.
