Tranquility is part of my Waterwoks Series.

This painting came to life from a place of quiet introspection — a need to portray the serenity that can be found when we fully surrender to stillness, even in the most fluid and ever-changing environments.

As I painted this graceful figure suspended underwater, I imagined her not as someone escaping the world, but as someone returning to herself. Her eyes are gently closed, her expression is one of peace — and although the water swirls around her, she remains calm, centered, and completely at ease. The refracted light, the tiny bubbles rising around her, the abstract ripples above the surface — all these elements were carefully layered to convey that liminal space between consciousness and dream, body and soul.

The inspiration behind this piece came during a period when I was exploring water not just as a visual motif, but as a metaphor for emotional depth, transformation, and self-healing. I was fascinated by how immersion in water can silence the external world and heighten inner awareness. There is something sacred in that quiet — and that’s what I aimed to capture here.

Tranquility is a celebration of stillness amid movement, of strength in vulnerability, and of the beauty we find when we simply let ourselves float — weightless, present, and whole.
