My oil painting, titled “OOPS… I Did It Again”, captures a moment of playful mischief that I found both charming and humorous. I painted a curious tabby cat draped over the edge of a tipped terracotta pot, intently watching a spill of vibrant red poppies tumbling onto a white surface. I wanted the stark contrast between the rich black background and the vivid crimson flowers to really draw the viewer’s eye. The soft fur of the cat and the delicate texture of the petals were especially fun to bring to life with my brushwork. I included a small puddle of water and a fallen petal to hint at the recent tumble and add a bit of storytelling to the scene. For me, this piece blends elegance with a touch of lightheartedness, and I hope it makes you smile.
