Transcendental Reflections is part of my Altered Realism series.

This piece was born from a personal exploration of identity and transformation. I was reflecting on how we evolve—how different versions of ourselves coexist within us. I imagined the three faces as symbolic of life’s continuous cycle: the past that shapes us, the present that defines us, and the future that awaits us.

As I painted, each profile took on a life of its own. The blue face emerged first, cool and reflective—representing the inner world, memory, and quietude. The middle figure felt grounded and real, tied to the present moment and the richness of being. The final golden face radiated warmth, representing hope, potential, and the energy of what’s to come.

Blending abstraction with realism was intentional. The organic textures, iridescent bubbles, and flowing forms surrounding each profile mimic the fluid nature of human experience—how we drift, shift, and ultimately, transcend.

Transcendental Reflections captures the spiritual and emotional journey within the painting, where thought, time, and self-awareness merge into a single, evolving expression.

This painting was made with oil paints on a gallery canvas, which does not require framing, as the sides are painted.
