When I began painting Into the Storm, I could almost feel the salt spray on my face and hear the thunderous crash of the waves. I wanted to capture that raw, unfiltered moment when nature shows its full power and beauty—a point where the sea feels both alive and unpredictable. The fishing boat in the distance became my focal point, a symbol of human resilience, determination, and maybe even stubbornness. The fiery sky breaking through the heavy clouds hints at hope and survival, even as the waters churn violently below.
As I layered the blues and whites to bring the waves to life, I imagined the crew bracing themselves, steering through uncertainty toward calmer waters they can’t yet see. This piece is not just about the sea—it’s about courage in the face of adversity, and the belief that light will break through the storm.
