TWhen I started this seascape, I wanted to capture not just the beauty of the ocean, but its untamed spirit—the way it moves with both fury and grace.

The rocks felt like anchors in this turbulence—solid, immovable, yet constantly shaped by the waves. Painting them, I thought about resilience and how even the hardest stone softens under the persistence of time and water. That’s when I added the seagulls. Perched calmly on the rocks, they became a quiet counterpoint to the chaos of the waves, a symbol of adaptation and coexistence with such raw power.

But the painting still needed movement that reached beyond the canvas. That’s when the idea of the flying seagull came to me. With its wings stretched wide, it soars directly toward the viewer, almost breaking the boundary between painting and reality. It’s as if the ocean itself wanted to pull you in, to remind you of its presence, its freedom, and its unpredictability.
