Description
I have always been fascinated by these colourful roses, and I felt compelled of painting them. Do they actually exist? Yes — rainbow roses exist, but not naturally.
Rainbow roses are created by artificially coloring white roses. The technique was popularized by Dutch florist Peter van de Werken around 2004.
Because the dyes travel through separate parts of the stem, each petal gets distinct color streaks, producing that striking rainbow pattern.
The painting was made with oil paints on a wood panel. It comes framed in an elegant black floating frame.
