This painting was inspired by the myth of Prometheus, a Titan in Greek mythology, known as the god of forethought and crafty counsel. He is best known for creating humanity from clay and stealing fire from the gods to give to humans, enabling their advancement in technology, knowledge, and civilization. His actions defied Zeus, the king of the Olympian gods, leading to severe punishment: Prometheus was chained to a rock in the Caucasus Mountains, where an eagle ate his ever-regenerating liver each day.
Despite his suffering, Prometheus was seen as a champion of humankind. His legacy endured in Greek culture, particularly in Athens, where he was honored. He was eventually freed by the hero Heracles (Hercules), who killed the eagle and broke his chains.
The painting was made with acrylic paints on a gallery canvas. Its sides are painted, so no need to frame it. Ready to hang on your wall and enhance you living space.
This painting comes with a certificate of authenticity.
